hello guys it's Iva Scelfo here today I will show you how I make my super delicious completely plant-based slash vegan meatloaf made out of lentils so without further ado let's get started So I'm taking a medium bowl and adding 1 cup of cooked lentils and you want to cook it more mushy texture then I'm adding half a cup of brown rice but you can also use a white rice it does not matter adding also a half a cup of white chopped onion and sometimes also add the garlic I'm adding one and a half tablespoon of barbecue sauce you can use any type of barbecue sauce of your liking I'm also gonna add one tablespoon of mustard and important is 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke which gonna add this very smoky savory flavor to our loaf and then I'm gonna give it a good stir after that I'm gonna add one teaspoon of baking powder one teaspoon of onion powder also one teaspoon of a garlic powder you name it all these great flavors all in then 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika I just eyeball it but you can measure it as well and also one teaspoon of black ground pepper to give it a little kick and then we stir again and now it's time to prepare our flax seed egg we're gonna add 2 tablespoon of ground flax seed into the bowl and add 6 tablespoon of filtered water this is gonna replace an egg and make the texture to stick together better and give it a stir and you gotta leave it on a counter for about 10 minutes until the texture is this consistency and then we're gonna slowly add it into our lentil mixture I didn't use any salt as you could see because I cooked the lentils and the rice in a salty water but if you didn't then you can go ahead and add about teaspoon of salt I'm adding about quarter cup of ground oats as an oat flour and mixing it all in I just used my regular blender to blend it and make the oat flour and now I'm gonna take my pan I sprayed it with a coconut oil and put some of this oat flour in so that the texture doesn't stick to it and then I'm gonna move the lentil loaf texture into this pan and you just press down until its nice and smooth in all corners then I'm taking a piece of alu foil and tighten it up as we're gonna bake it 20 minutes covered and 20 minutes uncovered so let's put it in the oven we preset the oven for 375 degrees Fahrenheit put it on a top rack and I'm setting the alarm for 20 minutes after 20 minutes we're gonna check on it take it out I'm gonna remove the foil be very careful as it's pretty hot and this is how it looks like and right back in the oven we're gonna set alarm for another 20 minutes sometimes 25 depends on your oven and this is the texture this is the color you want I'm cutting it into six pieces and serving it on the plate this time I made a mashed potato sauerkraut red beets and little pickle with it and that's how it looks like all served all done thank you guys so much for watching this video and if you liked it please give it a big thumbs up and subscribe to my channel as I am posting now every Thursday and also my weight loss journey right now so I'll be making lots of videos about what I eat in a day cooking with real ingredients and also this was my very first video on YouTube for you guys so be that kind and leave me a comment down below and let me know how I did and until next time bye
