Which kid doesn't like to come home to cold milk and cookies? This is my little attempt to make a nutritious cookie out of whole wheat instead of regular all purpose flour My kids love it I can swear by this recipe You do, don't you? Yes Every cookie starts with beating of the butter and the sugar So let's start it Ideally use unsalted butter In 100 gms of unsalted butter, add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar Now since we have creamed the butter, brown sugar and the regular white sugar It's time to pop in the egg Whisk it up nicely With a little bit of strength Into a nice homogenous mixture Into a cup and half of whole wheat flour, well sieved through Add 1 tspn of baking powder and 1 tspn of baking soda And stir it well This is the dry ingredient Now we will slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet stirring carefully Now let's add half a cup chocolate chips And I like to use chunks of dark chocolate as well to make it really chocolate and chunky Stir this in Having added the ingredients in proportion I mentioned It is a little dry still Feel free to add a little butter or oil to bring it all together This is the consistency we are looking for To roll out our cookies Once the dough is ready and looks this consistent You can either use an ice cream scoop to scoop out one nice big chunk Cookies will go into the oven at 180 degree for good 15 minutes Let it cool before you take it off the rack or the parchment paper And if kept in an airtight container can be kept easily for 3-4 days If they last that long And use cutters of your choice To cut out desired shapes Here are the cookies I hope you enjoyed it, if you do try these out with variations Let me know in the comments and if your kids keep gobbling it down, don't blame me
